The adjacent outdoor patio features a cozy fire pit, plush Oasis bed lounges and comfy couches – a perfect spot for stargazing and luxuriating in the temperate desert nights. As well, every Sunday we will present smooth live jazz from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. While 'Smooth Brothers' are jamming classic jazz tracks, our guests can enjoy all Small Plates from the sidebar menu at 1/2 price!
The Smooth Brothers Duo
The Smooth Brothers Duo. Is small in size but big in sound. This duo consist of members, John Carey and Theo Coakley who are co-leaders of the Smooth Brothers Band.
Guitar, Keyboards, & Vocals with a repertoire of thousands of songs, ranging from Sinatra to Santana. John Carey, Theophilus Coakley, this dynamic band is equally fronted by all members on their instruments and vocal harmonies. Their music consists of the good old days of Soul, Jazz, Latin, Blues, and Motown.
John (Guitarist and Vocals) is well known in Los Angeles and the Midwest, he is originally from Chicago, Illinois and performed with just about everyone on the R & B circuit including Tyrone Davis, Koko Taylor and the world famous Chi-lites. Theophilus (Keyboards and vocals) was born and raised in the Bahamas and at an early age learned to play piano. In the early 70’s he put together his dream group (T-Connection) to record and perform his original material on the neighboring islands. He also pursued a recording contract with T.K Records in Miami (Do What You Wanna Do) and soon after a three album deal with Capitol Records. (Best of my Love).
From fine wines to exotic cocktails, sidebar has an inventive line-up of handcrafted libations and tantalizing beverages. Riviera Resort's expert mixologists offer a provocative beverage program featuring such highlights as:
- 'Gingerita' (tequila, cointreau, lime juice and ginger infused simple syrup)
- Watermelon Mojito (Bacardi Watermelon, muddled mint and fresh lime)
- The Ultimate Sidecar (cognac, cointreau, lime and a splash of simple syrup)
- 'Blue-Cumber' (Stoli Blueberry, fresh cucumber juice)
- Lemon Millennium Drop (Belvedere Cytrus, fresh lemon juice, brown sugar and a champagne floater)
